Spring Is In The Air!

Our week started off with more hockey as we watched our grandson’s hockey game on live stream and we will watch another one this afternoon. I love that we can still watch his games from so far away!

Later that day we headed to a birthday party/happy hour with a big group of friends. That was followed by a smaller group get-together at our place to say goodbye to our neighbours from Victoria, BC who pulled out after spending the week in the site beside us. They were such a fun couple and fit right in with our group from day one.

My bougainvillea is in full colour!

That is the beauty (and sometimes the heartbreak) of this lifestyle. You can spend a week with people, share meals, laughs, fun times and then watch them drive off, not knowing if your paths will cross again. I truly hope this isn’t the last we see of them, but even if it is, what a great week it was.

The rest of the week rolled along with its usual routine … chores, morning chats as people stroll by, afternoon pop-bys, and evenings that are becoming longer each day.

We’ve officially moved into Yuma “spring,” which means temperatures climbing into the high 30C/90F and plenty of sunshine. I am definitely not complaining. 😄

This week I will share a sunset picture with you instead of a sunrise … still just as beautiful!

Now we find ourselves slowly starting to prepare for departure. There’s a strange mix of emotions that comes with that, a little sadness as we think about leaving our winter friends, and a lot of excitement about getting back to family and friends at home.

Soon the slides will come in, the goodbyes will be said, and we will point Maxx’s nose north. But for now, we are soaking up the sunshine, the friendships, and these last awesome days in the desert, because life is all about enjoying the moment you are in.

Until next time …
