Death Valley to Lone Pine, CA

We were up bright and early yesterday morning, mostly due to the cacophony of generator music 😦  Since we were both wide awake, and it was to noisy to enjoy our coffee in bed, we decided to get an early start on our trip to Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, California.

This is a pretty desolate area!

The road did become a little more scenic.

And we did finally come across some flowers!

As we approached Lone Pine the snow on the Sierra Nevada Mountains looked pretty against the desert floor.

We pulled into Alabama Hills only to find out there was no room. I guess with spring break everybody decided that was a good place to camp for free. So we headed onto Bishop, CA for the night, and unfortunately that snow on the mountains made it cold in the valley! I may just have to put on long pants 😦

Until next time …
