The Palms Trees Are Gone :-(

But we have arrived in the land of pine trees, which makes us feel like we are driving British Columbia highways 🙂

We left Alabama Hills yesterday under clear blue skies and warm temperatures.

We headed towards Carson City, Nevada. The trip took us along Highway 395, to elevations as high as 8,159 feet and we did see some snow along the side of the highway.

It was a pretty drive and we did eventually drop down to warmer temperatures 🙂

Mono Lake, California. This is a large shallow saline soda lake formed at least 760,000 years ago.

At one point two military jets buzzed us. I took this picture with out putting out the telephoto lens!

We plan to spend two nights in Minden, Nevada which is 11 miles south of Carson City where we will head today to do our grocery shopping and maybe do a little gambling … cause I think that is what you should do when you are in Nevada 🙂

Until next time …
