A Day With No Golfers!

The one thing you can count on at our RV Park is that no matter what, the golfers will be out on the course … at least that has been the case up until yesterday!

As I have mentioned in a few posts we occasionally get heavy winds in Yuma and yesterday was one of those days but to the extreme.  We woke up to the wind howling and the dust blowing but the weather has been in the high 90’s lately so the wind isn’t necessarily a bad thing:-)  After I closed all the windows in Maxx and went outside to retrieve a dish cloth I left out to dry and our plastic side tables … both of which were several sites away … I took some pictures of the trees across the golf course from us.

Winds were 25 to 35 mph (40 to 57 km/h) with gusts over 40 mph (65 km/h)!

When I checked the weather app on my phone I was surprised to see that it showed dust as a weather condition, we have never seen that before.

This is what it looked like when we took a drive up to the store later in the day, visibility was pretty low, however by the time we drove back to Maxx the sky was blue and the sun was shining … and yes the wind was still blowing☺

Normally the water in this irrigation canal is just like glass!

And normally you can see the mountains behind the water tower clearly and the sky is bright blue.

Like the golfers you can also rely on the fact that the sun will be shining when you wake up which is one of the reasons we really like Yuma.  In the two months we have been here we had one day with rain and it wasn’t long before the rain stopped and the sun came out.  If there is a downfall to Yuma it is the dust and the drinking water.  The water contains a lot of salt, which aside from making lousy drinking water, also makes for crappy water to wash vehicles or the trailer because it leaves a salt residue.  Aside from looking forward to seeing our family again the only reason I am looking forward to leaving Yuma is so that we can give Maxx and the truck a thorough cleaning inside and out … not so sure hubby is looking forward to that:-)

Until next time …
