Yuma grows up to 50,000 acres of lettuce a year!
Yuma grows up to 50,000 acres of romaine a year!
Red Leaf Lettuce
Yuma grows up to 3,500 acres of cauliflower a year!
Yuma also produces seeds and right now they are cultivating broccoli for seed and the bees are busy pollenating the plants.
Yuma grows up to 12,000 acres of broccoli a year. I’m not sure how much of it is for seed but we are pretty sure this field was seed broccoli. The bee hives are in front of the field and believe me I didn’t get out of the truck to take this picture because there were bees everywhere!
Okay, you have made it through day 2 of agriculture … only one more day to go, tomorrow is harvesting:-)
Until next time …
